PC Actinics (65W Straight Pins)

Hello:

I am currently looking for 4 PC Actinics 65Watt Stright Pins. Any suggestions on which to get. I saw some on ebay for like $20 for 4 of them. Come either 420nm or 460nm? So which one is the one most ppl use? Here is the ebay linky

it all depend on what kind of white bulbs you are getting, K rating if they are 10,000K
or better, I would go with the 420nm and if they are 5000, 6500K under 10,000 I go with 460nm, but that is just what I would do! the 460nm is not as blue when mix with the 10,000K that is what I got, it was a sale and for nothing they would trade me the ones for the others, but that would of been my choice

 

And I have read through the forums that it does matter which brand you get. Which brand? Ya got me.....But I am thinking you get what you pay for. I do thank for for the thread. It will be a learning experience for me. K+

 

BTW, forgot to mention, I have 2x250MH. They are pretty white (from Aquatraders). The 4x 65Watt Actinics are starting to get washed out. Not very blue anymore, so I think it's time to replace them.

 

4 65w {German's} = straight pins P/C's for 20.00 total ? Well whats the shipping ? and I myself would just leave them in China let them fill up their land fill with them The 4 brass pins are worth almost 5.00 on a real quality bulb . They had a guy here not long ago who got the M/H for 19.00 LOL 14 or 20 K LOL Looked like 4K more then anything else he tossed them . With a reef tank Bulbs are not the area to cheapen up I'd use cheaper salt or pumps first.

 

Hi Tangster, do you have anything you will recommend? I believe you were saying URI were good in another thread. Where can I get them? Thanks.
