Whenever I put PC bulbs over my tank, the coralline algae takes off and covers almost everything, but when I put T-5 bulbs on the tank, it stops growing and dies. Any reason why this would happen? Nothing changes in the tank except the lighting. Wondering if maybe PC has more power than T-5s.

Coralline algae prefers lower light. However, it should eventually adjust, but it can take many months.

The more blue in the t5 the better for your coraline growth.

The prettiest growths of all kinds of colors of coralline I've ever had were under PC's...I would agree it's prefers less light or more subdued light...the sumps under our raceways were the light is indirect have much more colorful coralline than the tanks directly above them.

What about LEDs? Will they kill it?

It would depend on the type/intensity and number of LED's. If it's a high output LED setup then you're probably in the same boat.
