Hello new to 3reef and the SW world! I am looking to setup my first SW tank which will be a 25(20" high) gallon reef. The tank currently has a ahsupply 55w PC kit in it that I used to use when it was a fairy heavily planted FW tank. I'd like to be able to keep some easy soft corals and zoa and am wondering how much PC lighting I will need. I'd love to use the single 55w but that seems unlikely I can make a new hood and add a second 55w pretty easily.

Also if I use 2 would I want 1 10k bulb and 1 Actinic bulb?

I know PC is now outdated(I have had these kits for around 6 years now) but the ahsupply reflectors are pretty amazing at getting the maximum light into the tank and I'd like to reuse them if possible.

I use 2 x 65w pc's on my 29gallon. I currently have a Kenya tree, star polyps, mushroom, sun coral, and ricordia no problems so far.

Given the quality of the AHSupply PC one may do it for starters.

Well that's good to hear. Think I could try with the single 55w?

2 x 65 watt pc's seem to be the norm but you could probably get by with what you have to start. You would want 1 10k and 1 actinic for sure.

you could always try and see I would definatly look into placing another fixture in there if it dosent look like enough light. aslo I would definatly look into placement of the corals when you get them, IMO that almost as important as the ammount of light.
