I currently have a four bulb with moon lights PC fixture and have the opportunity to get a four bulb t-5 with moon lights for my 75gal. Witch one is better and why pros and cons for each please.

I have T-5 s on my 75 and am very happy...as is everything in the tank. The downside to T-5 is that the bulbs need to be replaced about every 6 months or so because they loose PAR. Keep that in mind if your buying the T-5 fixture...dont include the value of the bulbs when you buy it, unless you know they are very new. I've never had power compacts before so I can't comment on that. Im sure that you will get many comments from people who are more informed than me!! Good luck.

All advantages to T5HO. Bulbs last longer, are cheaper to replace, use less energy, have better penetration and higher PAR. You also have a greater selection of bulb spectra to have a more complete color spectrum in the tank.

Couldn't have said it better. Also, PC is out dated technology now of days as well.

Thanks everyone, I am receiving a Lunar Aqualight four bulb T5 fixture as part of a settlement with Kent marine. They offered me money and product, but I have everything I need so it's nice to hear the light will be an upgrade:)

To clarify what they were saying is that while PC bulbs are only good for 6 months, T5 bulbs can last up to 18 months depending on brand.

PAR is good for a year at least if you actively cool the bulbs.
