I'm tired of losing my Green Chromis (I usually start with 6 and end up with 2) and want to try a school of Damselfish. Which type can I keep that are peaceful and can be kept in groups?

I would go with anthias...Damsels are always pretty aggressive..I would go with Anthias,2-3 should be good.

Chromis will gradually kill each other off, and the same will probably happen to damsels.

I've read the best damsels for keeping in groups, as well as having a fairly pleasant disposition, as damsels go, are the neon damselfish. I don't have any personal experience with them though, but did quite a bit of research as I was thinking about getting some. Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Neon Damselfish

Anthias don't last very long. I kept Dispar and Bartlett's before.

Blue Reef Chromis.... not to be confused with your plain blue/green chromis.

I had a 75 gallon with a dozen "azure" damsels (look like a yellow tail blue, but with yellow on the belly too) and they did just fine, eventually didn't school any more, but didn't mess with any other fish.
