AS long as you are not adding more fish and immediately transfer the rock between tanks you should have no cycle or a very tiny one.

Why would someone want to use a fish to cycle a tank? Personally IMO wouldn't that be borderline cruelty?

Can't someone achieve the same results with (Dead Shrimp, Chemicals)?

BioSpira and fish is what I use with plenty of live rock. My cycle last usually around a week or less, with very little ammonia spikes.

Why dont you use BioSpira and a table shrimp? then you dont have to hurt a fish or deal with it.

A Peacock Mantis is very expensive and doesn't produce the same amount of waste as a cocktail shrimp. Get a cocktail shrimp from the store and toss it in. You can remove it after a week or two but I left it in for a month (it got nasty but worked). Then make sure you have some live rock from a friend or a LFS. Then you could add the peacock or fish. Good luck!

Just custom build what you want, If you want a full grown peacock you need to do the research for yourself rather than just asking the question. It is a unique creature with unique requirements. And you need to be prepared to handle it.

Doesn't matter if you put it in the tank or sump you still have to cycle the tank first. Whats the rush?Cycle the tank then add inhabitants.
