My GSP is growing around the rock where I don't want it to grow.. I'm amazed how fast this stuff grows. I don't own a scalpel, what's the best way to peel this stuff off of the rock? It seems pretty fragile.

It's not fragile. I would get a utility knife and try to scrape it up and then just cut the mat where you want it.

if your utility knife looks anything like mine... I wouldn't stick it in the water ;)

I went out and bought a razor scraper thing specifically for these kinds of tasks so I wouldn't cross contaminate.

You probably already know this... just making sure ;D

I have this kind because it's got hardly anything to it, so it's real easy to clean up afterwards (rinse the salt off and stuff)

Oh yeah, I got this at Walgreens.

Just the same exact thing at Walgreen's last night!! Kind of wished I hadn't passed them up but didn't know if they were safe... Will have to make a trip there today! They look like pure plastic...? Didn't really get a chance to look them over with the g/f rushing to get out of there....:-/

My blades aren't the same color as my handle like in this pic. I got the green handle thing and it came with a box of razors (normal, silver color metal razors).

I don't use the entire knife, just the blades.

I buy just the blades and throw them away cause it will rust. I keep them for just tanks and I keep my shop knife seperate. Mine is full of drywall, grease and everything else.

You can just use scissors as well. Just grab it, peel the mat up, cut with scissors, and your done ;) No need to get fancy, specially with GSP's
