It will cost a bit more bust should be worth it compared to powerheads.

Are the side panels of a standard 75g tempered? If not then you could do a 1500gph gla$$-holes kit in the side with a single loc-line return on either side of the overflow. As for the closed loop, where would you put it? Down near the bottom to provide some sandbed flow?

If he were to use a CL, it would be coming from the bottom of the tank & from the one end against the wall.

what exactly do you mean by peninsula? is the display tank completely surrounded by cabinetry?

Lets see if I can clear this idea up a bit...
What I would like to do is make the tank viewable from three sides, with the fouth side (an 18" end) closed off as part of the cabinetry with the plumbing hidden behind the lumber, this would be the end against the wall. I'm thinking of doing the 1500gph kit from glass-holes on that covered end. Still not sure about what to do for the return though? Maybe a couple of K4's next to the overflow box and the return ran with pvc to the opposite end with loclines pointing towards the overflow.
Maybe I need to draw up a picture so it would make more sense.

I had a 65 gal peninsula tank. I had a black standard stand by perfecto. The back of it was open so I simply went to HD and bought a small piece of 1/2" plywood and had them cut it to my specs. I bought a quart of flat black paint and painted the doors and got 4 hinges and 2 knobs. I also decided to paint the whole stand while I was at it even though it matched very well.
Now it was great to be able to reach in from both sides to work on the sump or skimmer etc. I'll add a picture of the tank in a minute or so.

I have 2 photos of the 65g peninsula. You can see the doors and knobs that were put on and how beautiful the peninsula idea is. The other picture shows the 2 korelia powerheads that I used to circulate the water around. I used Korelia 2's which are similar to the korelia evolution 750 gph but on a four foot tank I might use the 1400 gph evolution. Good luck!;)

This is what I am hopig I will be able to do. Keep in mind I just made this pretty quick, nothing is to scale. The stand will be much taller than it looks here. Please let me know any opinions you guys and gals have on this, especially with the plumbing. Thanks![IMG]

Very cool tank, marlinman. Thanks for the pics and ideas. I was originally thinking about going with 2 of the 1050 Evo's but I agree the 1400's would probably be better.
