What wood are you using for your skin? Got pics of the stand? The base has been completed, but looking to wrap the base with wood and staining it. I went to HD and they're plywood has stompholes everywhere, rough material, and not user friendly. Looking for one side finished so I can stain it.Menards has both sides finished, but wants $98 per sheet. Help me out people as I'm stuck with this structure for now :(

At my local Lowes, they have cabinet-grade veneers (expensive, but worth it), and 5mm plywood that looks nice stained. If you can't find anything nice where you are, Google cabinet shops near you. A lot of shops will sell you veneers and such from overstock.

Ouch 98 bucks a sheet, I have no Idea what they were showing you but its not the right stuff. If you want oak, use a sheet of oak Veneer plywood, I just bought a sheet of 3/4 from Menard's in Joliet IL for $45 and the 1/4 which is what you would use if you have a frame is less. Its got an oak veneer on one side and Luann on it other. If you want just Pine you can get a sheet of 1/4 AC or ACX which is sanded on one side for about $24

I chose 1/4" Oak plywood, I will be installing it, and staining it this weekend. Got it at Lowes, and it wasn't 98 Dollars, thats for sure :)

I also used the 1/4" oak with luan on the back side. Installed it over my 2x4 frame with trim nails, filled nail holes with wood putty, sanded and then stained it. Came out very nice. Pics are on by build thread.

I had mine built off some guy on craigslist. Everything was completely custom.

all wood is Oak stained Ebony Black. I coated it with urethane so salt will not stain the wood.

check it out in my psat 2 thread

I used pine car siding. Painted the entire stand white, Looks pretty decent. 2x4 frame, then car siding or tongue and groove, whichever you prefer to call it. Finished it off with brushed nickel hardware.

I used 2x4's for the entire stand and used pine for the face and doors, plywood for the sides. Pine paints extremely well.
