pep shrimp in hiding?

    hey guys my peppermint shrimp that i got almost 2 weeks ago never comes out of the rocks.... just stays deeply buried in crevaces and holes in the rocks?? swaying back and forth usaully...

    is this normal?

    Normal as can be. They come out at night, nocturnal feeders. When the lights turn off, wait about 30 mins. and get a flash light and you'll see them. They will however, avoid the light, so you must look fast. Luna

    With my fire shrimps they did not become more social till I had a few of them now they run all over. Also I read this fact in a book callded the marine atlus vol1

    My p-shrimp do the same thing. Stay out of sight.

    I had peppermint shrimp in my tank for about 1 and 1/2 years, and I might have seen them once or twice...but when they'd spawn, I'd see a crap ton of action from the fish...the fish would go crazy, usually about 45 minutes after the lights went out, and then we'd get out our flashlight and there would be hundreds of tiny lil' shrimp all over the place...They might still be in there, but I never see them...
