Pep shrimp killed by strange anemone!?

    I found my peppermint shrimp with no flesh and two of his arms stuck inside some kind of a pink anemone type thing! I will try to send a picture.
    He was fine yesterday. WHat is this thing that killed him?

    Its a very pale pink color with white specks. It looks like jelly, maybe not an anemone
    HELP!

    Looks like an aipitasia eating your peppermint shrimps molt to me. Give it a couple days then look for your shrimp at night.

    OH I thought that may be what it was. But the anemone doesnt look like an aptasia. Its totally different looking.

    So thats just the Peps shed and he should still be alive in the tank?

    Yes. They're vulnerable right after molting and usually hide while there new exoskeleton hardens. May take a night or two before it feels comfortable enough to come out again.

    I had a clear aip just like the one eating your molt. My advice is to get it out before it gets bigger. Some of the clear types are capable of launching stinging cells like darts to catch thier food.
