peperment shrimp will they eat soft corals

    Will pepermane shrimp eat other soft coral. I know they eat aptisia but what else:confused:

    No, peppermints wont eat corals. Theres a good chance they won't eat aiptasia either ;) And be prepared as you will never see them. I had 3 of them for aiptasia and it was a complete waste of time and money IMO. Just get Joe's Juice or Aiptasia-X and be done with it ;)
    The problem with corals is that peppermints are often mis-id'd with camels. A lot of places selling peppermints are actually selling camel's. Camel shrimp will go after corals

    Mine eat aiptasia and I see them any time I want. I only have 2 which debunks the "multiple shrimp" requirement for them to eat it.;)

    I have 2 in my tank which is full of softies...and no issues at all. They do a great job of keeping the atipasia down.

    They don't eat corals, however they may nip on anemones. They are known to "attack" carpet anemones!

    Likewise they will munch down decorative tube anemones. If they are new-ish it could be that they have been walking over the polyps and bothering them. Give it a little time, watch for damage.

    There are 2 types of peppermints.. One that does eat aptasia's and one that doesn't.. The trick is finding someone who knows the difference... Do I know the difference?? Heck no!!! But my friend who has his own ebay store does...

    very rarly see mine since I got him. Only once actualy. But At night might be walking on polyps. Thanks for all imput. Would like to find out what is the diffrence in peperment shrimp though any help with that would be appreacited.
