Other than being food stealers, I haven't had problems with my peps. They didn't do much to the aptasia that I could see, and would occasionally eat an unhealed softie frag. They'd eat snails, but only the ones that died first, usually from falling on their backs.

Most snails have a pretty tight sealing hatch, I wouldn't think that the shrimp could get it if it was alive. But who knows...

Great article and information! Now I know that what was stealing my Dendro's food out of their inside was a Lysmata Boggessi. When I go back to my LFS I'll check out what it is that they have there.

    Good info!

Our skunk cleaner killed and ate the stomatellas in the display, at least one strombus (that we witnessed), and one cerith that my boyfriend saw it rip out of its shell and we both watched it eat. None of the snails were dying or dead and all our shrimp are very well fed. It's a gamble.

Peppermint strikes again So this morning I woke up and found my new frogspawn got chomped on and in such a deep way only the shrimp could have gotten down that far. Luckily the LFS I purchased them from gave me a refund after I told them of the horrid things they did. So far the frogspawn looks like it's going to make it It's gotten bigger then it was and I placed some brine shrimp over the mouth and over some time it did eat it and is showing less signs of stress. Poor little guy gets a new home and is savagely eaten by two bully shrimp.

I got rid of my peppermint when I caught him chasing the starfish around the tank picking at the tentacles under his arms. Oh, and I believe that peppermint shrimp killed the other peppermint shrimp as well. I have no proof, but it went missing after a few days of them being together...
