SLF will def. eat the GHA..it is one of the main things that they eat (besides detrious)...Emerald crabs are bubble algae eaters more than they are GHA...Sally's are WAY better cleaners than emeralds are..

I currently feed my fish from a variety pack of frozen foods. (It's "Saltwater Multi-Pack from San Francisco Bay Brand"). Does this give my fish enough variety of food?

I feed my fish Brine, Mysis, Bloodworms...soaked in garlic..and then i feed OmegaOne small pellets every so often...and at least twice a week i give my tangs some seaweed paper...everyone else in the tank eats the bits that the tangs tear off..my tank seems to do fine with this...i dont use flakes at all because i find them to cause nitrate issues because its hard to get the right amount where it doesnt sit in the rockwork and rot.

This crab is an omnivore, consuming detritus and algae in an aquarium. If insufficient food is available, its diet should be supplemented with seaweed and meaty items. When it grows to a larger size, this crab can become aggressive and catch and eat small invertebrates and fish.

I hope for your sake that it's a friendly one, as well. They're a bugger to catch when they go rogue on you. For the record, I'll never own another one.

If you do a little research, you'll find that the Sally Lightfoot is not a reef crab at all, but a shoreline crab and, in most cases, an opportunistic predator once they mature.

    Good luck!

    Sneaky sally

I thought a wrasse was eating my peppermint shrimp. I pulled him out and added a cleaner shrimp today. 4 hours later when I checked on him, he was gone. I finally found him in my sally's hands under a rock. That is 6 peppermint shrimp and cleaner shrimp and no tellin how many hermit crabs he has eaten.
