So I was placing some new coral yesterday when all of a sudden I feel a slight prickly sensation on my hand. Turns out the ol' shrimp (the same one I had to save from the intake valve of my protein skimmer) had latched right on. I shook it off and went back to work, but he would invariably creep over and jump on my arm after a while if I didn't drive him away. My only guess was he was picking at tiny pieces of skin for a free meal. Anybody else have any quirky inverts?

Thats awesome. My cleaner shrimp do the same thing. The peppermint does once a while but he is usually hiding.

I don't have any fancy invertebrates, however my clownfish defends it's territory and any time I move a piece of rock it attacks my hands :D I find it very amusing ... ;D

My female Maroon clown will viciously attack anything going in tank.

    And damn, her bites hurt!

Is even so bad now, she will leap out of water to attack my hand.

Am certain I am never going to be able to add another fish to this aquarium unless she goes first. (this may be a good thing - :p)

My former cleaner shrimp would eat out of my hand. One of the banded corals I used to have would also eat out of my hand, or pinch me if I didn't give him something first. The BCS I have now is a 'fraidy cat.

Banded cleaner shrimps are known for that, but peppermints are usually timid. Sometimes they think that the tiny air bubbles that attach to your hand when you put it under water or near a pump that is running dry are food and they try and eat them.
