okay i know peps are supposed to be reef safe, but ive caught mine messing with my torch coral and a couple of my palys that i am trying to nurse back to health after they were stung by my GSP. They are not camel shrimp! After noticing one pep digging at one head of my torch coral heads yesterday, today it looks like the head might die off. It looks sick compared to the other three. Is this a possibility? The torch has lost five heads since i bout it with 8 or 9 heads on it!

I had two peppermint shrimp. Both destroyed my xenia, and messed with just about all my corals. I know I probably got a rouge pair, but I hated mine until the day they killed each other. A terrible experience. So it can happen. I would remove the shrimp and replace it with something a little less... Agressive... I love my cleaner shrimp. Lots of personality.

Yeah, I have a peppermint and a cleaner and the cleaner is so much nicer. Yeah he was like 5x the price but worth it! I laugh though at the peppermint because he is always doing the pee pee dance.

It could have been removing dead flesh in both cases and it would still irritate your corals. If you are having problems with your torch you need to look at your parameters. If it is in a high flow area you need to move it to a lower flow area. High flow is bad for their health.
