Peppermint Shrimp Molting?

I think this shrimp has a screw loose somewhere. : When I came home yesterday he was laying on his side next to a rock looking quite dead except for an occasional tentacle movement. He even had a few specks of sand on top of him, and laid there all night.

This morning when I got up and looked at the tank with no lights on, I saw him swimming all around the tank! Now that I'm home and the lights are on again, he's resumed his original position in the corner of the tank like in the picture.

Yea not really sure what he's up to.
