    Good evening,

Except not for my Banggai. Bought 2 cardinals from Aquarium Adventure 2 weeks ago. Sadly one met his/her maker a week ago, due to unknown causes. Banggai #2 has been hiding in a corner and not eating for a week and this morning my wife said the poor little guy was lying on the sand, sucking wind. When I was in the store over the weekend, one of their employees told me that the Banggais were not doing so well, as another employee bagged up the last 3 they had for someone else, but I digress. Then my cardinal just disappeared.

Unless he can phase, there is no way that he made it into the overflow, he did not launch himself from the tank either. Is it possible that one of my greedy little peppermint shrimp grabbed him and dragged him back to their secret lair? Has anyone ever had a peppermint snatch an unsuspecting fish?

    Thanks,

    Jim

They only attack dead or maybe weakened fish.

bangaii cardinals do not do well during acclimation period. They are kind of like the chromis, you have to purchase 12 of them to have maybe 3 survivors. If you can get past the first couple weeks, they are hardy fish, it is just trying to get to that point

Shrimp will eat nearly anything that's dead.
