Percula or Ocellaris??? Are the LFS workers useless??

    Black coloration is very loosely associated with percs at best. It's common with percs in the aquarium trade as there's more demand though. However, this is not a strong identifying characteristic in the species description. Both ocs and percs can develop black, and neither necessarily has to.

    im voting they are ocellasis as well. I know its not scientific but just from seeing a lot of both they look like an O. to me.

    Im going false perc on this one!(Ocellelaris) There is just not enough black in my opinion. Then again you see the occasional false perc with a lot of black! Just a guess!
