Percula Sick?

I have 1 yellow tang who is doing well and has been, and I "had" 3 Percula clowns.. 1 started to have this "skin peeling".. so I put him in a 2 1/2 gal quarantine to go buy some medicine, but he died shortly after.. now the 2 remaining Nemo's have the same skin peel going on..
Is there anything I can use to treat them right in the tank?
I have a leather, pumping xenia and some polups, so I dont want to hurt them.. (shrimp and crabs too)

and live rock too..

All the water parameters are fine... is there are product I can use right in the tank? or should I take them out?

 

Please Help?

Has any had a chance to think about this one?
Is there any medicine that is safe for my tank? Catching them alone would be a chore..

 

Well whenever you have corals, and even usually if you don't, its always a good idea to treat illnesses in a quarantine tank. However I'm worried for you. Unless your signature needs to be updated, and I think you told me in another post that it does, your tank is cycling still? If thats so then its way too soon for any corals. Also, 4 fish would have completely overstocked that tank and they would soon be floating anyways. If your tank is not cycling, then like I said you will have to treat them in a different tank because of the corals...but I have no idea what you should get for treatment.

he is the smallest of the 3.. right now I am warming the water in the quarantine tank..
Hopefully I can save him. I got some medicine from the LFS... it begins with an M and is downstairs, otherwise I would post the name..

 

Well that sucks! Trust me I have gone through my fair share of fish. Mostly because I was naive and impatient. It has hurt my wallet and the ocean. So I feel your pain. Let us know how the medicine works.

 

Well here is my question - should I worry about the whole tank? Sure - if I take him out and heal him, and I put him back.. will this whatever it is come back? it looks like it has already been passed from one to another..

 

If your medication is successful, then you shouldn't have much to worry about. You said your tang is doing fine, so it sounds like some kind of disease specific to the clown fish. Just don't put him back right away after he heals. Keep him in the QT for a couple weeks to make sure everything is fine. If after all of that, it still comes back, then some deeper research would be in order because then yes it would be something in your tank making him sick.

 

it sounds as though you are describing the disease brooklynellosis. you are doing the right thing by setting up a quarantine tank, another action you could take is multiple freshwater dips to kill off the parasite/bacteria. i've also heard that the product "formalin" is especially helpful in this situation, you just need to maintain water quality/parameters when using the product. hth.
