the mandarin isn't shy... at least he doesn't dart away when I put my face up next to it...

but the vast majority of the time, it has been hiding in the rockwork or behind it.

he also gets kind of pale at night

I would assume it's just hunting around for its next snack when it's hanging out in the rocks. Also I don't know about mandarins but lots of fish get paler at night so I wouldn't worry about it until there's another reason to worry, maybe someone else has actual experience to share. :)

picked up some new coral this weekend... all my pictures turned out to be terrible. So I'll try again tomorrow.

    Duncan, candycane, some SPS frag.

I found it wierd how they get all pale like that at night too. When they sleep, they really sleep. Absolutely obvious to whats goin on around them, a few times I thought he was dead. Makes me wonder how these things last in the ocean. Im thinking many a nocturnal hunter has dined on mandarins at night. Then again maybe all that psychadelic coloring means its a toxic tasting meal?

hey pered, tank is coming along nicely. if you want to work on fattening up the mandarin, live bloodworms are usually readily accepted and have a great protein profile.

what page is the newest FTS on?

I've tried 2 local LFS for bloodworms! I can't find them without having to pay shipping :-/ I want to try that though.

I hope to work on getting new pics today (maybe a video). I need to update my FTS with my new corals!

I hope work is nice to me and doesn't keep me busy all frickin day again.
