GSP was becoming a problem. I now have maybe 1/4 of my rock nuking.

    Reference thread

Some GSP added to the back glass.

    reference thread http://www.3reef.com/forums/live-rock/nuking-really-my-best-response-76804.html#post746922

Wanted my main thread updated, so some repeat stuff

I now have a kind of island look. I kind of like it. Not sure what I'll do when it's time to put the nuking rocks back in the tank...

Got three pieces of GSP on the back glass. I'll see how that works out.

I also went ahead and am nuking the rock the xenia was on. I threw most of this out. I put one piece on a frag disc so I can still have some... but it will be relegated to a disc on the substrate.

Most of my corals are just lying around on the substrate now... I'll figure out them and flow tomorrow.

I got a mechanical filter running now to pick up the junk and have got the actinics back up and a couple PH going for flow finally. I'll plug the skimmer back in later tonight.

these pics are in order... but I didn't capture most of what I did...

ok, here are some slightly better pics of the new scape. Let me know what you think of it (especially compared to the way it was).

In a few weeks, the rock I removed will be done with the nuking process and I will add it back. However, I plan on simply adding it on the right side to keep a double island look.

I want to have a space in the middle for some brains or something.

I have also shyed away from putting frags on the substrate and am experimenting with that more on the left with some zoa and acan I had.

This blasto and bubble may very well get moved when I add the rock back. The hammer too.

I'm thinking I will have the right side as stinging things and the left side has a ton of holes on the top in this layout. So I am thinking I might try a few more SPS up there to go with that cabbage I think it is called on the top.

Looking good, I'm a fan of double islands as well! Good luck clearing up those pesky corals. :)

yes. not sure what to do about it either :-/

my current plan. our plan here is to be out of this house within the next year and the next house has upgrade plans for the tank. Something in the 180-250 gallon range as the DT and using my current 55 as a sump.

So... I'm hoping it will hold out until then (is that even reasonable?) and when I switch tanks I am done with CC. I think it looks really neat, but will go with sand so I can get better sand turning critters. Also, it will be very shallow sand bed. Maybe even black, I dunno yet.

I am still researching 3reef to see if this diagenesis is going to be a problem for me...
