Neat, I am getting close to crossing the line of 1000 posts and 3000 karma.

Sweet frags man!!! Very nice Blasto's! Have you tried feeding them yet? Personally, I really dig the Wellsi's as they are a bit more uncommon and look really great with larger polyps, where did the new frags come from?

I haven't fed them. I turned the lights out (just on for the pics). Ya know, low stress on their first day in. I will give the tank a shot of zooplankton tonight or tomorrow with some target feeding mixed in. I hope they take it.

It was either these or some acans (same color combos though)... these ended up being cheaper so I went with them.

I got them from reef_pets on ebay. Price was really good. I got in a bidding war on the hammer, but I had to have it. Otty had used them before so I decided to give them a shot. They post stuff on Sundays that close on Thursdays... I check them out every week. They are based out of OH.

Firefish ended up starving after all. Dangit.


It was looking real skinny - the clowns make it hard for the firefish to get to the meat when I feed. So I started direct feeding the little dude various things last week but I guess I didn't give him enough or start early enough. Kept losing weight, but he was taking the food.

Found him being eaten by hermits.

So I went to grab my long tweezers for more precise grabbing. When I got back - vanished. That was last night. I've searched a jillion times it seems like. So now I've got a rotting firefish or an already eaten by my CuC firefish. Numbers haven't budged from 000 yet... we'll see.


Oh, so now I've lost three fish in like a week. sheesh. all from different ailments. jumpism, pansyism, starvism.

I have an idea though. I'm not mixing fish. Next batch will be Indo-Pacific across the board.

 

An efficient clean up crew will often take care of the business before you even see the body.

Sorry to hear about the firefish dude. There is a chance it could have been a internal parasite or other intestinal problem as well.

 

Woah woah woah...here's a question.

What's the difference between hammer coral and frogspawn coral??? Cause your hammer coral looks alot like our frogspawn...
