Has anyone seen this before? Do all mushrooms do this or just some? It is not constantly doing this, just sometimes.

Thanks you! oh my goodness, I didn't think about that. it makes sense it could've been - he was eating but still losing weight. I had just assumed he wasn't eating enough. If it were this, do I now have a good chance of my other fish getting the parasite?

My advise is to ask Pack, because he has experience at answering this ;D

The hammer has a hammer shaped head (like a T) and the frogspawn has more of a bulb type head ( like p maybe). There are other differences too I think, but not sure so won't say. Oh, when I say 'head' I mean the tip of the tentacles if that wasn't clear. :p

    Thanks for the comments reefers.

not much in the way of updates... haven't really done anything to the tank after all my fish loss problems other than add that blenny above.

I do have, for the first time, coraline growing on the back glass. I think I'm going to let it go. It's suddenly started to spread very quickly.

Also, my purple blasto has gone from 4 to 7 heads. I thought it was 6 earlier today, but I just looked at it closed up and I can count a 7th. That is stinking awesome!

Leaving for a 4 day hike tomorrow. Nervous as heck about my top off actually. I don't have this automated so I had to train wife. And she won't be here for two days, so tank will go 2 days without top off. Given how this week has been, that probably equates to 2 gallons from my ~57 gallon system. I hope she does well. She's pretty dependable. I hope the swings associated w/2 gallons are OK. Not worried about feeding, they're fat enough.

It's my April 20-27 Hawaii trip that I'm really anxious about... getting my bro to house sit... I might ask one or two of you 3reefers to be on call to snowcrabpg (my bro) for that week... any volunteers?

after my brother trains me up I'll be taking care of it while he is away.

I'm sure I'll be asking some questions on here.

Update now that I'm back from my shorter trip - the one I left Thursday for. Back now.

Unplugged skimmer to lessen evaporation - I think that worked well. I lost 2 gallons over this time period. Normally would've been around 4.

And also came home to a dead blenny. My Red Lip. :-/ Jumpism. So I am going to finally get some egg crate and make a lid of sorts... see how that works for me. Really didn't want to lose the blenny.

But at least it landed on its belly, so it dried up in a really neat position. I will post a pic later for it. I am keeping it. It's on a shelf now.
