I've noticed this when I dose magnesium as well. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Also +K to blackraven for the chemistry lesson.

what do you mean? As far as record keeping? I signed up on a website. tankprofiler.com. I log everything in a notebook (backup) and then transfer it to the website sometime later in the day. As you can see, I've backed down to testing monthly or so, so it's not too big a deal to log it ;) (but if you could see my record from the beginning, I only backed down to monthly after months and months of no movement.

Or you mean as far as my autodoser and ATO? That's a big list ;D

But for you, I'll detail it out, if that's what you want dude. Is it?

Thanks dude. I do wish I could tailor when it turns red, but I'm happy just to have somewhere online to log it 8)

Well, there ya go! Excellent explanation. I add Ca and Alk every day and Mg about monthly. The SG barely raises ever... so just so nobody thinks this is runaway SG increases or anything... it's barely noticeable.

Do most people not keep records of all water parameters?I thought they did. Either way, I am still going to.

You know, I kept a record of it after weekly testing for the first ~3 months. Then I realized that some of my corals are a better indicator than tests, and cut back to "when it seems necessary due to something odd with the frogspawn".
