anyone ever heard/used any Periwinkle snails? and are they good for cleanup crew?
Where I live there must be thousands of what I have guessed to be Periwinkles snails. They've actually done a terrific job in my OT tank....

    any info/opinions would be appreciated.

I have found a place that seals them, and maybe that makes them ok?

    any ideas?

Are they like Limpets or Chitons?
Chitons are algae eaters and reef safe while Limpets are not to be trusted with corals.

I can not find anything that describes a Periwinkle as either of those. All the internet info just says : These are algea eaters and do well in aquariums."

but they never says reef, or coral...they haven't got on any of my corals yet at all....but are doing a great job on the glass and all...

I'm going to believe these guys are ok. Until I found out otherwise :)
