Hey guys I dont really post on any other forum so I need some advice.
I have an adult male cat that is for the most part fully trained in everything. How ever 3-4 month ego I caught him peeing on my expensive leather couch. So I did the usual spanking and he stopped.

I also have a 1.5yr old female cat that we adopted 8 month ego. She started to do the same ****. I spanked her as well but she still continues to do it. We have since moved to a new place and she is doing it again, no matter how many times I spank her she does it. I am so frustrated I dont know what to do. My girl friend got to the point where she wants to bring her back to the shelter. It seems like the female cat is not learning anything, not to be rude but she seems retarded.

Is there a training school for cats? Lol sorry I'm not much help.
    I do have a question..
You spank your cats when the do something bad?? Sorry that sounds a bit harsh. Care to tell me how that works, I'm curious.

And maybe you could take your cat out at certain times of the day like you would a dog to do it's nessesities?

Cats pee and poop in a litter box, they do not go outside. You spank a cat or a dog the same way a child, on the butt or place their face in pee. That is how you train dogs to wait to go outside and pee.

heres a tip, cats are outside animals. cats have no manners. dogs with small brains (small breeds) have no manners and belong outside. the bigger the head (brain) the smarter it is. brain matter is scalar. besides you need the cats outside to catch rodents. cut their food in half and make them usefull. or sit in pee.

What are you using to clean the leather? The reason I ask is because even though you are cleaning it (with whatever you are using) the cat may still smell where she has went or where the male cat went. You may not smell anything but cleaner, but the cat could still possibly be smelling something. You might have to go to the store and get a different leather cleaner to see if that will stop her. Hope that this helps :).

Ive had animals since i can remember and weve never spanked a cat and the nose in the pee or poop has been a proven theory it doesnt work a cat or dog needs to be caught in the act and when it does you make a loud noise pick them up and take them to there potty spot and when they go where you want them you give them attention and praise....I have 5 dogs 2 cats and 3 ferrets theyre all potty trained

If I tried to spank my cat, she would shred me. Spanking a cat will do little good, they don't respond to the same tactics that dogs do.

Is the litter box clean? Are they fixed? Sometimes they use that method to mark their territory and if the cat is altered that may solve your issue. Also, if the cat's litter box is not clean (if you have a plastic box, try replacing it, even if you don't smell it, the cat does) they will sometimes exhibit the same behavior.

For future refference, punctuation is a must when you write so much. No cvlue where one idea ends and a new one starts. Your post was impossible to read and understand.

Missing punctuation not withstanding (and yes it was hard to read), the above info is dead on. Spanking a cat, or rubbing it's nose in it, will not and does not work. Peeing where they are not supposed to could also be a sign of a urinary tract infection. Sorry, but a trip to the vet is highly recommended, and could "cure what ails you" (or in this situation, the cat(s)).
