I have 4 cats and 2 dogs right now. We have tried the Vinegar cleaning and never really found it to work really well, so we have used several commercial cleaning agents and found that they work super. After cleaning it really, really good with some Commercial cleaning and odor removal solution get you self some No go or No Mark. I have used both and they work great. Best way to do it lay a blanket or towel over the couch when your not using it and spray it with the spray, bet it keeps the cat off and after a while you will not have to use it because the cat will remember it was there.

Another hint is make sure their litter box is spotless and you might want to get a second litter box. Some cats will refuse to use a litter box that another cat is using and she may just be looking for another spot to go.

Good luck, I know they can be a pain in the butt, I have had several that used to do the same thing to my chair, and it was cloth so you can imagine how hard it was to get the smell out. We used the No Mark and with in two or three weeks neither of the cats we had would even go anywhere near that chair.

Have you ever had a cat? obviously not, you do not walk cats you use a litter box with cats of let them out and they use the great big outside litter box. haven't you ever seen the videos on AFV of the cats being dragged along on a leash, they don't walk well.

I all my 51 years and all the cats I have ever had I have never once heard of someone spanking a cat! Every cat I have ever had would have shredded my hand if I tried spanking a cat and I really can't see where it would do any good at all other than making them not want to come near you again! Every cat I have ever had went out side or in the litter box inside if they could not go outside.

Maybe thats part of the problem, maybe it was an outside cat before you adopted it and you should try letting it out to do its stuff. It would be worth a try.

My cats all have manors, are loving sweet animals and belong with their family no shoved outside like some wild animal, thats why they are called DOMESTICATED ANIMALS. They are very useful, they are company when I need them just like my dogs are my friends and company! you obviously do not like cats or dogs.

Unless you have something useful to add to the conversation please #1 keep you criticism to your self and #2 learn how to spell! Its like the pots calling the kettle black!

Thank you all for replies. Well except that guy that said that all cats are stupid and all dogs with small brains. Maybe he is, well never mind Ill keep negative to my self. Ok I will no longer spank my cats I promice. I am going to clean every corner of the couch this weekend and I am ordering something called scat mat from petco. Both of my cats are spayed/nutered. She does not have a urinery infection. Yes she was an outside cat before and my boy probably did pee to piss me off for brining her. Well I am not going to give up on her and try to fix this. Thanks every one.

I rescued a 5 week old kitten that a friend had found. I had left my bedroom door open and she managed to get the door closed and locked herself in my bedroom. I had just purchased a brand new mattress. I get into bed only to discover while she was in there she peed at the foot of the bed (thank god). I cleaned with oxy-clean several times using a shop vac. 3 days later she did it again, same spot. Thank goodness I had a few layers of towels still in that spot. Well she did it a third time. I am sorry to say I lost it on her and did the same thing people are berating you for. I spanked her and yelled at her put her face where she peed and then tossed her in my daughters room where her litter box IS and shut the door. I spent a whole day with oxy-clean, water and a shop-vac cleaning and letting it sit and doing the whole process over again, until I was satisfied I could not smell anything. I know my nose is not the same as a cats sniffer. It has been 8 months, I do try to keep my bedroom door closed but she hasn't done it again. Keeping my fingers crossed.

if you are not ready to accept the responsibilities of owning a pet ie. cleaning up after them when they are bad. then don't have one. honestly animals do not share the same shame that we do about defecating where they please. not to mention not all animals are created equal there are dumb cats and smart cats, some cats that pee in the litter box some that don't, you are really rolling the dice when you get a pet especially a stray. and for you to beat and or belittle the animal for doing only what is natural is ridiculous. and for anyone else reading this if you are looking for a pet and would like the easiest transition and outcome go with a breeder that has breed the animal for temperament, intelligence, and physical health. if you start with good stock teaching them things and getting them used to new surrounding is significantly easier. strays and rescue animals should be left to people with better than average animal skills and patience
