Most Acro crabs with live symbiotically with a host acro, but do't get me wrong, they feed on its polyps. I've read the females camp out towards the base and through feeding on polyps make a 'nest' where growth edges around them. I'f your colony is healthy and growing well its not a big deal, but crabs are known to eat themselves out of house and home, sorry for the pun

The second one almost looks like an emerald, although mighty dark for one.

I wouldn't say they are sharp but they aren't blunt either I'll take a better picture of the claw when i get home.

Well the problem is I have two crabs one I know is an acro crab because I saw it in the acro the other I am not sure. I am also not sure which shell is the acro and which one isn't. I think the smaller shell(1st one on the thread) is the acro crab since this is the second larger one I have seen(1st one of this size I didnt get a picture of and was before I had the acro colony).

Alright I did a little searching and it looks very similar to a Mithrax crab on this site, the one in the last row. Now I need a plan of attack to find and rid it from my display tank and throw it in the refugium.

If its a mithrax then they are normally safe. Mine has been a little angle for over 7 months now.

From what I read they are fine when small but when they get bigger they can get agressive towards fish.

I have seen some posts about them going bad. But most of them are fine. They swing there claws at fish that get to close to try and scare the fish, but most fish are to fast for them to grab. I have had several over my 2 different tanks and never had a problem with them.

I just mainly worry because I have no idea where he is. If I were to try and get it out any idea as to the best way? I heard about the glass and meaty food, but I don't know where he is.
