Has anyone ever used petco test strips? I have used them since i started my first tank and now im questioning whether they are reliable. I know all of you will be stereotypical towards petco, but my petco is A LOT different from everybody elses haha.

(BTW, im in health and bored so someone talk to me! lol

Test strips of any kind should never ever be trusted.

    Test strips

I've been using them 3 times a week, and after a month or so i went and paid for a master kit "50 bones" and master test showed the same as strips.

    Foot notes:
    Master kit=Red sea marine lab
Strip kit=Jungle lab corp. 6 tests in one quick dip

PS. I use strips 3 times a week and master one time a week now.

    Hope that helps,
    Mike

Regarding your pH, I have test strips (Jungle Labs), chem test (API) and a digital pH meter (Hanna). Assuming that the pH meter is accurate after calibrating it, the chem test comes close (as close as you can with a color gradient), while the test strip seems to always show higher (determining color was also subjective). Even though it's very easy to do, I hardly use the strip tester for other parameters since I'm not sure of it's accuracy. I used to retest with other methods after using the test strips because of uncertainty, so I just gave up on it all together.
