Pete's little tank :-)

This is just another little 29 out there. I don't feel "show off your tank" is accurate, but this will be my tank thread.

The tank was setup in November of 2012 after lots of planning and careful considerations that took place.... Yeah right! It was more along the lines of having old equipment laying around and having a tank given to me. Naturally it was wet within 48 hours haha. Its a very simple setup with no bells, whistles, disco mode lighting etc.

Specifics would be 4"sandbed, about 15 lbs of Fiji rock I had sitting in a trash can in my barn for 7 years, about 15 lbs tukani live rock. For water movement I have 1 jebao wp25 and a seio superflow 620. I use a hob filter that does absolutely nothing to improve water quality. Its purpose is a place to use gac, phosphate removing media occasionally and to aid in increasing oxygen. For lighting a have a 6 bulb t5 with all ati bulbs. I have a super advanced auto topoff that only select few have been lucky enough to get their hands on. Its an old gallon jug with airline running inside that has a knot tied in it for flow control. I don't really wanna get into all the technical data with the ato because some of you may get lost. The fish list is fairly short... Ocellaris clown, bicolor blenny and a yellow watchman. I have a very diverse cuc with lots of snails, hermits and more great hitchhikers that came with the rock. I'm not even going to attempt at listing the corals I have, because I honestly don't know. There have been several times I have seen something and thought "where did that come from?" I will say I have a variety of button polyps, mushrooms/ricordea, lps and sps

 

Simple and beautiful great job. What about water changes and dosing ?

I have been doing 4 gallon water changes every two weeks lately. I drip kalk to keep my parameters stable and have to dose alk and mag about twice a week. CA is completely replenished with the kalk so I don't have to dose CA.
