I had some algae starting to build up on my LR, as apart from one leather I don't have any corals, I decided to take the LR out and scrub it, in tank water.

Since doing that my PH has dropped over the last few days. I also did a water change at the same time.

Below is a screen grab from my Apex graph, it is currently sitting at 7.86 and it's 7:50am. The 27th was was when I cleaned the rocks, and since then it has slowly declined.

Is this normal after cleaning rocks?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Not really much of a drop, you disturbed the bio-film by scrubbing off the algae and the rock is not up to snuff again yet.

That small a drop if I am reading the chart/graph/controller could be from anything as small as not opening the front door in the morning and letting fresh air in, to burning dinner the night before.

When you get down to 7.8 at the end of the photo period then I would worry.

Thanks Corailine, it's was stable between 7.9 and 8.2, but then as yesterday if struggled to reach 8.1 and seemed to be getting worse. I'm new to this so still getting used to what is acceptable.

On another note, in a previous thread I mentioned that my dkh was at 4 and I wanted to raise it. I only had a small amount of sodium bicarbonate so decided I would start the ball rolling by adding a tsp, baking it for 30 mins so that I could raise the PH at the same time.

Well raise it it did, my PH shot from 7.86 to about 8.36, it started to come down almost immediately and is now at 8.19. I assume this is normal and I haven't caused any stress to anybody :)
