I test my PH before starting dosing kalk and it was barely 8.0 maybe about 7.9. My alk was according to the color code between normal and high. The colors blend so it is hard to tell. I say on the higher side of normal and my calcium was at 440.

SO I stat dosing the Kalk I made using 1 level tsp per gallon. I drip dose it at 1 drop per second . after 5 minutes I test the ph and it is at 8.6 so I stop dosing and add some vinegar to get the PH down. I get it down to 8.0 and resume dosing this time with 1 drip every 2 seconds. PH went up to a safe 8.4.

Now my question is DO I HAVE TO MONITOR THIS THING ALL NIGHT?

oh btw I have a 75 gallon tank and my lights are off.

Are you dripping while the lights are on?

    Not much.

Did you wait until all the Kalk settled to the bottom and only drip the clear liquid from the top?

You should be fine with the slower drip rate. The longer the lights are off, the more downward pressure there should be on the pH so you'll probably be at 8.2 in a couple of hours which is also safe.

Are you testing pH with a calibrated probe or a color test kit??? I would get a probe if not a controller so you can shut off the drip if needed.
