    High pH can also be caused by oxygen saturation. It tends to happen if you have an open-top tank, running a skimmer, have a fuge that runs 24/7, airstone, and any combination of those. Cut some of those down and you should see your pH drop some.
    If pH is low, increase the above listed. I don't like to use those "pH Up" and "pH Down" chemicals. The only thing I add is buffering compounds (like baking soda, baked baking soda, calcium carbonate, etc). The other gimmic additives are only bandaids and the swings they can cause can be devistating to a tank and your fish. Letting a tank naturally correct itself is the best way.
