ph level drop (randomly) why??

    hey guys im a bit scarred :disappoin.. last night i tested my water for the first time in a couple weeks and my ph level was really low like 6.9 and i have never had this problem and most of my corals where fine too im just worried i did not stress out my new tang that i just added a couple days ago.. oh and i also just installed a new protein skimmer and i also have started to try purple-up. any experience my fellow reefers:confused:

    What are your other params? Do you run a fuge? Were lights on when you tested?

    yea light had been on all day and my water is always good as i keep corals and such...??

    We need to know what are your Mag and Cal levels. Also your Nh3, No2 and N03. When was the last time you did a WC? Did you add anything else besides purple up? Luna

    i had not done a water change in maybe about 3 weeks.. and my cal is at 500-550 my alk is at 17dkh wich is very high.. my nitrate was was pretty high as well but the rest i dont really test usually

    Also, is your PH test kit still good? If possible, get another test done by another test kit. Luna
