You should test for Mag. That will help us figure out whats going on. Also high levels of no3 will affect your PH. Your Cal and Alk are a little high, at least for my taste. Luna

Im assuming that you live in Miami and if this is true your house must be closed up for a/c. My ph rarely goes above 8.0(for whatever reason). I dont know if a 50% WC will help you. If you where going through what Sparky is going through, then I would say yes. I would do some WC's, but smaller ones over a couple of days. When you said you had high levels of No3, what is it? The house being closed up isnt a good thing. I tried a test that Tangster told me to do and it surprised me. Try this; get a glass of tank water and place a air stone with an air pump inside the house for about half hr. Test your ph at this point. Now take the same glass, air stone and pump and place it outside for same amount of time. Now test it for ph again and tell me what are your results. Luna

Its because of the carbon dioxide levels in the house being higher than they are outside and having the house shut raises those levels.

The higher the Co2 the lower the pH. That's why a lot of folks will run both a calcium reactor and a kalc reactor.
