I left a lighting reminder a while back so here I am with a chem reminder. My pH probe monitor started alarming last night showing a drop from 8.3 to 5.77!!!

My immediate reaction was to charge for the kalkwasser!:drive: I controlled myself and remembered Matts Go Slow and let it grow. I regained my composure and started my testing.

First a quick dip stick. Nice and pink! 8.4! Feeling beter but not confident I pulled out the test kit and started sampling and dripping. 8.3-8.4 :p

Ok time to calibrate the probe. Calm, calm, set the slope. Perfect. Dip the probe. 7.7

Time for a new probe? Or does anyone have a better suggestion? I leave it in refuge. That couldn't effect it? I cleaned the probe gently and cleared with RO/DI.

Let me guess was it a Pin-puke probe?? I just had one go bad and I will never get another one. Rather spend the extra money on a better probe and have piece of mind.
