pH probe response time.

    Calibrated a new Neptune pH probe and it is taking FOREVER to get to steady value. 5 hours and it's gone from ~5 to 6.75 and the test strips show 7.4

    Is this typical? Dead probe?

    Clean the probe with a 10-20% vinegar solution. If the response time doesn't improve dramatically, I would replace it.

    Response time should be on the order of 20-30 seconds tops.

    I am a moron. Remove the bulb with buffer solution contained therein, before inserting in tank.
