    Found: Coris the Wrasse

Well, he showed up after a long weekend out with the boys. I am just happy he is not rotting in some corner of my aquarium driving up my ammonia. So. Life is good. As always.

I doubt very much that it cycled already and started to work. Did you do a WC or cleaned the sand, cut back on feeding? Luna

No, none of that. I think it is just my abilities as a master aquarist dude thing. Yeah......that's it. I am doing a WC tonight. And I will feed the wrasse. He is soooooo purrrrdy. Honestly, it is the prettiest fish I have ever seen.

    Good for you, John.

I wasn't so lucky. My yellow coris wrasse was a potato chip behind the tank, found tonite.

They do sleep in the sand nightly. If you take notice, you should see it burrow shortly after the daylight lights go off. They're great fish. Always busy doing something.

I am running 4x55W (2x 12000K daylight and 2x 420nm actinic) and 2x65W 10000K daylight PCs. Pretty lame, I know. My Christmas present to myself is going to be a Nova Extreme Pro 8x54W T5 array. It will be sweet. Yes it will.

Not lame at all I was just curious because i saw you had an anemone and was curious if you where runnng pc's. I want to put one in my 75 but all I have for lighting is 4*65 watt 2 10,000 white and 2 10,000 actinics. So its kinda iffy. How long have you had the anemone?

I have had the anenome since the tank cycled, about four months now. I put it in waaaaay too early. You should wait about a year before attempting such a thing. I lucked out, because when they die, they are tank killers. The toxins released are impressive to say the least. Some anenomes require T5s or MH. Mine is a condylactis gigantea. I got it for $5.39 at Petco. Very common anenome. My maroon hosted it within two days I think. PCs do it just fine. It will move to the middle of your tank. It won't stay at the bottom. There just isn't enough penetration for the PCs to do it any good down there.

It is something you need to pay attention to. I watch mine everyday for changes.
