Pharmrjohn, Just an observation on blennies, when the 75g was up, I watched our blenny get skinner and skinner and finally took him back to the LFS... We worked to keep all glass and rock clean, no algae...

While waiting to complete the setup of the new tank, we have a "seed" tank running with a couple of damsels and a blenny, here in the seed tank, the blenny is staying very fat... but in the seed tank, we are only keeping the front glass clean, there is a light growth of "green" on the back glass with a lot of bite marks in it...we are running a phosphate reactor on this tank to keep the algae in check...

Our observation is that the blenny needs a bit of fresh green alage available to feed on, we consider the blenny to be a part of the cleaning crew....

Yeah.....that's why I got him too....to be part of the cleaning crew. I only keep two sides of my tank clean. The front and the left side. The right and back are left alone. Thanks for the input.....I do appreciate it.

if i remember you got your blenny skinny right? chances are he was allready stressed to the max with shipping and whatnot, unless they had him for a while? either way good luck! maybe try a different flake food.

    Testing

Testing for this evening is as follows:

    Temp: 80
    pH: 8.3
    SG: 1.026
    NH4: 0.3
    NO2: 0
    NO3: 20
    dKH: 12
    Ca: 475
    Mg: 1470
    PO4: Present (Low)

    Notes

Ammonia still present. I am under the assumption that it is still cycling after two months from the change over. Sandbed movement is to blame I am sure. I am not overstocked and nothing is dead in there. My filtration is clean.

Nitrates are still up. I really cranked up the denitrator today from 100 drops per minute to free flowing. We'll see what the result is. I am sure it is cured by now. It has been about two months. I know it is working as my levels have been steady and I have not done any water changes in about three weeks.

Ca, Mg and dKH are where I want them give or take.

PO4 is still present. One capful of Phosphat-E will take care of that.

Everything looks great. My tang has gained a small amt of weight. Ribs are not showing as much. I increased flake food and gave him broccoli. Algae feast tomorrow.

    Testing

Testing for this evening is as follows:

    Temp: 77
    pH: 8.2
    SG: 1.027
    NH4: 0.3
    NO2: 0
    NO3: 25
    dKH: 12
    Ca: 455
    Mg: 1470
    PO4: 0.03

    Notes

NH4 still a little high. Getting used to this. NO3 is a bit on the higher side. I am feeding a little more to try to fatten up the tang. I will do a WC if the NO3 gets any higher. Ca is getting a little low. I will add some tonight. Mg is a little low. I added enough to generate about 20ppm extra. I added some bicarbonate just to keep everything stable. Perhaps enough to get to 13. Phosphate looking good. I went to the LFS and picked up some macroalgae out of their fuge to feed the tang.

New LFS coral that I need identified. The dude at the LFS was new. He did not know. Said it was a ricordea. It was in the low light tank, so I know I am good and won't kill it.
