    Testing

Did a pre-Thanksgiving round of testing. Cleaned the glass and switched out the filter socks.

    dKh: 10.5
    Ca: 450
    Mg: 1560

I am going to raise my dKh and Ca. I will leave my Mg where it is.

I have identified a cyano bloom on one of my rocks. Nothing to be concerned about now. I will remove it Friday and boil the rock until it is deader than a doornail. It is not that invasive so I am not worried about widespread action out of it.

    Sea Apple

Well, my Sea Apple took a Thanksgiving Day poo. This is the first time I have seen it. It is actually a very good sign (that it is getting enough to eat). It happened during dinner. Everyone looked at me strange when I pointed at it and stated exactly what happened......with great excitement. Then looked around the table and asked "WHAT!!!!???!. My explanation of the inner workings of the sea apple did not help much. My wife thought I was disgusting. Well......she is right.

Well, it's Friday night. Yup, looking forward to another night at home. And I am not being sarcastic. I am really looking forward to it:). So here are some pics.

I have peeled my first bunch of cyano off one of my rocks and see a bunch more starting all over my tank. I will try increasing the flow here in the next week with a two K-4s and some Florida Cerith snails to control the outbreak. Then I will wait it out:p.

    Testing

My biweekly round of testing is done.

    dKh: 12
    Ca: 460
    Mg: 1560

I am going to add 5ml of the Red Sea Calcium +3 to get some other trace elements in there.

The cyano is spreading. Little spots here and there on the rock. I am getting, later on in the week, 100 dwarf cerith and 50 Florida Cerith snails from Mr. Maloney to combat waste and specifically the red carpets of doom. At least it is easy to peel away from the rock.

    EDIT: Added some bicarb
