I am running 6x55W with two of those being actinic. It is time to replace them though. I just had all three of my cars go down for the count (One is up and running again), so my TEK is on the back burner. The bulbs are about seven months old. It hurts me to buy new PC bulbs but, hey, ya do what ya gotta do.

kind of late on this post as you have already put rock in trash can. I hope you used a salt water mix to clean out trash can. I read in Tropical Fish Mag. Sept 08 (the reefer James Fatherree ) he had a leak and put his stuff in a trash can that was not cleaned out well enough and lost a lot of items. Hope it is all good. Looks like a busy week end.

    Back to it....

OK, I have been kind of out of the mix for the last several weeks. Kept up on the tank as best I could, but a nasty neck injury has all but sidelined me. But, now that I am getting used to the situation, my energy levels are starting to increase to a point where I can put the time necessary to keep my tank healthy.

First off.....yesterday I discovered that my Coral Beauty has fin rot and a little ich. As I am unable to catch her, I am soaking flake food in Melafix and feeding it to all the fish. She is still eating. Also, I am dipping algae strips in garlic and feeding them that. So.....we will see. I give her a 75% chance of survival. Yesterday, it was 50%, but things look really good today.

I am getting back to the testing and dosing as I should. I guestimate that my dKh is around 8, my Ca is 400 and my Mg is 1400. Not bad, but I will know more tonight. Here are some pics......

    My Scondy......it's growing well.

A general family shot...things are a little blurry because I was trying to follow the tang.

    My tang and turbinaria

My blenny hangin' with the sea apple. I find him on the sea apple quite often.

This is where my Teks are going to come from. I have a buyer for this 1968 Olds Cutlass. It has a 455ci non-running engine (needs an overhaul badly). But the body is straight and the interior is 7/10. Not bad.

And my little girl Serena (to the left) with her friend Jade having fun in the snow a few days ago......

Parameters and pics of the sick CB to follow.....perhaps someone has a better idea on how to treat the little sicky (no I can't catch it.....already tried)

Cool stuff John! And hey, is it just me or does the blenny look nice and chubby again?!?!? ;D That's awesome, they are such great fish with awesome personalities.
And man, that '68 Cutlass hasn't seen snow like that since it was brand new! ;)

Thanks man....Yeah, I have been very happy with the P-cup. It has always looked very healthy. And to think it likes it 21 inches down under PCs. Weird.

And yup, I watch both my anemone and apple everyday. The apple doesn't need any light.....just good conditions. The Condy has slowly made it's way from the bottom of the tank (where it was for about a month or so) to the top (where it has been for the last four or five weeks). I was looking at pics of the condy from about five months ago and, boy, has it grown. It still has about 30% more to grow I figure, and that's perfect. I just need to keep it away from my Koralia.....it likes to migrate towards it. Not very smart, the anemone. It already got a little taste of the intake on my AquaClear-50. Just a little. Damaged the tip of two tenticles. Got lucky.

And I am running 6x55W PCs right now. The bulbs are about 8 months old....so it's time to replace.

What is all that white stuff on the ground?

I kid. We actually got a little snow here in Houston the other week. Happens every few years... nothing that sticks to the ground though. Just makes it wet.

Tank is looking awesome John. Very nice.

Sorry about your neck. I pulled my back two days ago lifting my little girl (11 month old). Ugh. But you're a pharmacist, right? ;);) j/k
