Yes it was. Perhaps I will take this back for credit and get another. Or just flat out try something else. It may be my lighting too. It sucks.

That's true, I didn't think of the lighting. I was going to suggest pom pom. Some say it requires even higher lighting, but Ive seen it take over biocubes and they run PC's as well.

I was thinking pom poms as well. A nicer species of Xenia I must say. I will wait until I get better lighting though. After surgery, we are going to take a look at finances and decide whether the TEKs are a possibility. They may very well be.

Just a note - my pom pom's are doing well and splitting and pulsing. I have them halfway down in my 55 under T5's.

    New Additions!!!!!

Went to the LFS today looking for a six line and came home with three additions. A large frogspawn, an eight line wrasse and a juvenile red coris wrasse. The pics are not very good, but they give you an idea at least. So, without further ado......

Red Coris Wrasse (named Clowny by my daughter)

And with Clowny is my eight line wrasse (named....yes....stripey.)

I also got a very nice frogspawn I will photograph tomorrow and post (a better picture). It has two large stalks that branch out further into four and three if I remember right. Seven heads total anyway it seems. Four tightly spaced and three widely space.

My wife doesn't even ask me anymore how much I spend when I get back. Wise. She really doesn't want to know.

    Testing

Just did a round of testing....didn't like what came up, but that's life....I think it's time for a water change. I haven't done one since 10/08, just topping off and adding suppliments to cover what would be included in the salt mix. But my NO3 is creeping up and my PO4 is not good. What I need to do is finish my fuge....I mean, good Lord, it would only take a few hours of work and it would be done. So I'll endeavor to get off my lazy butt and do that.

    Temp: 78
    SG: 1.024
    pH: 8.2
    NH4: 0
    NO2: 0
    NO3: 30 (H)
    dKH: 9.6 (L)
    Ca: 430 (L)
    Mg: 1560
    PO4: 0.5 (H)

My Ca is a bit low for my tastes, so it gets increased to about 475 over two days. The dKH I will take care of tonight as well as one dose of Ca.

Everything looks good. Corals seem happy. The new fish are eating and active. The RCW acts like my other one in that it gets up at 7PM and goes to bed at 4PM. Like clockwork.

Very nice additions. I love the coris. I think I'm gonna get one myself next couple weeks when the new shipment comes in. Best of luck with your new buddies.

    Cheers;)

Finish your fuge already!;) Cool fish and FS.

Just waiting on mine to mature. My boss is harvesting some Grape and feather for me.

My Ca and Alk was never a problem keeping up. Always high. But with new additions and additional coraline, mine seemed to fall of. Tested and got 350 Ca and 3.5 meq/l Alk. So I have been bringing them up and will stay on top of. My Coraline has not liked it and seemed to start dying off.

I kept my Alk at 4.5 and for a while it seemed I could not drop Ca from 450, but like it around 400-450.
