I cannot remember where I heard it from. It might be on the jug.....yup on the jug. One-half to one inch of sand recommended. And the mud depth seems to be an inch. That was off the Miracle Mud website. ONE INCH OF MIRACLE MUD IS AS EFFECTIVE AS A SIX INCH SAND BASE!!!! Something like that. Most likely an overstatement but that is OK. I think I have an inch and a half of mud actually. Whatever works man. It was recommended by the owner of an LFS I frequent, and he knows his stuff. There is only one other dude at an LFS I trust as much as Eric. They are few and far between.

As long as you keep your params in check, things are cool. Right now, my nitrates are high (around 50), so I am getting nervous. I am off to the LFS tomorrow to get some sort of nitrate sponge. Until the macros get here, I need to do something. And a water change also.

I tell ya. For one reason or another, I am very good looking to older women. I am not kidding. Not the younger ones....oh no. We are talking the 80 and over crowd.

    This story illustrates it perfectly.

I was delivering meds to one of the local nursing homes. I walked through the front door, strolled through the lobby and saw three women standing at the counter. They were in their 80's. One of them nodded toward me with that look and said to her friends, "Mm Mm Mm, if I were only forty years younger.....". Her friends nodded knowingly. All I could do is think, "Thanks you, but....WHY CAN'T SOMEONE IN THEIR 20'S SAY THAT!!!!!!". So I bring the story home to my wife. She laughs and says, "Yup, you would have been good looking in their time.". NOW WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!!!! Jeez......::);).

    Fuge done

So it's about time....the fuge is done. Got my order in today

    A bunch of Gracilaria

I need this one ID'd. My first guess is Caulpera Prolifera

Looks like a penny macro of Fern Caulpera???

    Ulva (and Chaeto?)

Put all together in one happy place......

So the fuge is now done.

Attention needed to get turned to my overflow problem. The suction cups holding those PHs responsible for siphon assist were not holding. The PHs would slip down and cause the CPR to lose it's ability to do it's job. Since the aqua lifters were a maybe before surgery day, I did a mod on the PHs that kinda worked. The thick glass did not help with the heavier PH, but the light POS PH held position. I saw someone else do this a few months ago....it is a solid idea.

    End result......

But then, in the nick of time, the Aqua lifters came in. I installed that, and it is now working like a charm.

And because I love my Sea Apple, and it turned it's face to me the other day and opened up wide.....Here is a shot of it.

So that's it. I also dropped in another Rio 2100+ return pump and installed the other aqua lifter on my second overflow. However, there is a leak at the output and it needs to be tightened down. I am not going to fool with that today. Next week I will tackle it when I am recovered a bit. Otherwise, it's pretty much ready to rock.

    Peace.......John.

I just am wondering: did any of the old ladies pull off a bend and snap?

Oh Good Lord, the bend and snap. Yeah. The snap was their spinal cord. The only thing not annoying about that movie was Reese. Oh my. Reese.

:laughcry::lol::laugh5::yelrotflm that is the best story I have ever heard to date! On another note, I am actually surprised at that age, woman more-so than men would be saying remarks like that.
