hey john, i see on this thread that you are feeding either oyster feast or phyto everyday. Have you looked at this being the culprit of your nitrate problem??

I have been feeding a little...not the prescribed amount. And the nitrate problem was rearing it's ugly head during a time when I was feeding the corals once every week or two. Good thinking though....I am sooooooo happy the fuge is finally doing it's job. Even with the everyday or every other day feeding the nitates are starting to dip considerably.;D;D;D;D

Well.....I am still very psyched about my TEKs. My corals are all looking really, really sad. I will take pics of them over the next few days with the old PCs to give a really good before shot. I moved things around the other day when I redid the aquascape. I also added a significant amount of flow. Thus.......

My gorgonian was not liking life. It was not blooming. At all.

    BUT TODAY...............

IT'S BACK!!!!! So as a reward, I immediately fed it some DT phyto and some Oyster Feast. The Sea Apple took notice and opened up. Bonus round.

And as a side note. That nice fat yellow damsel used to be the small one of the three I have. The three stripe was the big-guy, the yellow tail was next and the yellow was dead last. Now, he is the biggest damsel in the tank. Probably about 2&1/2". Fat, but not with too much attitude. By far the best damsel I have ever owned. Loves Nori. Eats it like it was going out of style. And that's probably why. The other damsels will not touch what I put in there daily (or every other day at least). Flake food is only fed two or three times weekly so the other two only get limited food. Pretty cool man.......

Is it just that I'm sitting at home on the computer too much, or have you been waiting a very long time for this fixture?

I have. I sent a personal check. So that had to clear, which took about ten business days. Then when he had it packaged up, he took it to the post office and they nailed him for an oversized box charge. OK....back home for repackaging!!! So it went out, let's see, last Friday? No, yesterday. The tracking still has it accepted in Grandy, CT. So it is on the other side of the country relative to me. I would expect parcel post to take 7 to 8 days from yesterday. So next week. But I am a patient man. I have been waiting to get this set up for the last six months. Another week ain't goin' ta kill me.

I did get my snails in today. The codium was a little whithered and stinky. I have it in it's own water right now. The snails stunk a little, but they are coming alive in the tank as I type. Tomorrow, I will know which ones are dead. Maybe day after tomorrow.
