    Hi all,

I purchased 2 Phosban 150's with GFO from BRS a few months now. I must say that I'm not very impressed. One was set up in my 29 Gal Nano seahorse only tank to try to help with my red slime problem. I think it made it worse. The same with my 55 gal LR, LPS, softies with fish tank. Secondly, I used the amount of GFO that was recommended by fellow membrs, in essence less than half the BRS website recommended does. Still very little effect. For me the most annoying part is that the filter screens don't stay in place and before long they are half way up the canister and GFO is not properly sitting at the bottom tumbling but rather all over the place or even worse just sitting trapped in the filter screen at an angle.....grrrrrrrr. I've tried 3 times now. I just took them out and putting them away.....Has anyone else experienced this and any tips on how this can be resolved short or using aquarium epoxy to keep the darn sponges in place?

    Thanks

So, you believe the Two Little Fishes Phosban reactor with BRS phosphate remover media made your red slime WORSE? hmmm.... What makes you think this? I've had great success with this combo in removing cyanobacteria and all my other algae issues.

As far as the media and the filter rising up inside the reactors, it sounds you have the flow way to strong. Are you using the supplied check valves. The GFO should only have a slight tumble on the top layer.
