I have had some algae problems that I am getting under control. I only have Kent Marine Phos Reactor. And I put the carbon in a bag in my refugium. I switched from PhosBan to PhosGuard. This seamed to work better. I would like to use my my Kent Marine Phos Reactor for the carbon and purchase a new reactor for the PhosGuard, PhosBan, or Bio pelletes. My question is what are the differences? What are you using?

    The differences are

Phosguard is an aluminum based PO4 absorbing compound , it is effective, I have used it, but some people have experienced problems with leather and toadstool corals having a negative reaction to leached aluminum from this product

Phosban , is a iron based PO4 absorbing compound commonly known as GFO which is granular ferric oxide , this media is also effective at reducing phosphate but is not typically associated with any coral related negative reactions (unless you use to much to soon, strip the water of P04 to quickly and the corals can react to the rapid water changing conditions by bleaching)

Bio Pellets are a media that encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria, which live on the pellets. these bacteria remove PO4 and Nitrates in the same manner as bacteria does within our aquarium
the tumbling of the pellets in the reactor causes the bacteria to be sloughed off the pellets and later eaten by the corals or captured by the skimmer

that is a summary of the differences

    all are effective

which one is best for you, I am not sure

show us a picture of the issue and water parameters, then I am sure we will be in a better position to make suggestions

What kind of water are you using to top off / water change?

if you choose to go the bio pellet route, do a lot of reading. when playing with bacterias there can be issues, dead corals, dead fish.
