I'm interested in some of the pros and cons of running a phosphate reactor versus just having filter bags with phos-zorb in my sump in a high flow area.

Is the reactor more efficient at removing phosphates than phos-zorb filter bags? How about cost factor? Are they cheaper to run in the long term versus using media bags in my sump?

no comparison really I can put rowaphos into a reactor and run it for months and get a 100% contact time with the systems water.. Same with carbon in a reactor opposed to laying a bag in a sump or something water like electricity will follow the path of least resistance and with more debris that bag gathers creating more resistance the less good you get from the media .

Like day and night difference And for 35.00 the reactor will pay for itself in a yr by the savings on media and aggravation of the PO4's in your tank

+1 on the reactor. I had been running Phos media in an HOB filter and it was just ok. I recently set up a TLF reactor and my corals have all perked up, Phospate is at 0 after a few days. If you get one use Rowa media, it's the best.
