Well i purchased the poly-reactor about 2 months ago and well, needless to say, for 40 bucks, it sprung a leak due to the seal on the lid and the outlet of the reactor... Im looking into buying a new one. The poly-reactor was a multi-media reactor, but whats the difference between that and a phosphate reactor??? How is a phosphate reactor specialized in phosphate removal? That question is just out of curiosity, but on a more important note, is this a reliable, non-leaking, and well sealed reactor? Since i have tubing and a pump from the other reactor, i should be able to hook this up right away. Look good? Two Little Fishies - PhosBan Reactor 150

i believe you can put any media in a phos reactor check out bulk reef supply they make a quality piece for a reasonable price :)

My 2LF phosban reactor has been good to me, you just have to make sure you wipe off around the rubber seals and top part that you screw on other wise if there is some dirt/sand etc it will cause it to leak a little. Its not special for phosban or anything like that. You can use it for carbon, gfo or wtvr you want. I'm thinkin about converting mine into some sort of denitrator since my chaeto got the phosphate under control but i will have to do read up some more.

ive had the TLF reactor for about two months. I like it. simple yet effective. and no leaks. Also the proper feed pump will prevent those types of problems

I assume it was the "proper" feed pump because its the one it came with...

Unless it has some sort of glued on connecters or threaded on I wouldn't trust any of The slip ons to not leak.

I just received my reactor from BRS today. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/brs-gfo-and-carbon-reactor.html You need to hook it up to a MJ1200. I'm only using it for carbon right now but I can add GFO and run both. It comes with sponge dividers so you can run both at the same time.

Build quality is great. It is basically a RO prefilter canister with a sleeve insert that holds the media. No thumbscrews to hold the lid on. The cannister screws on to the lid.

well if it came with one than yea.... no good if it leaks. unless your conncetions were not secure....

I have a mj400 feeding my TLF reactor... some people crank it up with a mj1200... but more potential for leaks imo.

Make sure you put the control valve on the input to the reactor from the pump. If the valve is on the output of the reactor you will generate pressure in the reactor and it will leak. This is directly from the instructions of my phosban reactor. This could be the cause of your leak. Check it out.
