    Morning,

With a RODI, is it necessary to have a phosphate reactor? If I store the water in a plastic container, will the plastic introduce phosphates into the water?

The Phosphate reactor is something that is added to your tanks filter system
Phosphates can come from many sources in the reef tank, foods, salt mixes, Carbon
( although not so much these days Inwall informs me) and probably other places I have not considered

I store water in plastic tubs for 2 or 3 days at a time, and have not worried about any phosphate issues from the plastics to be honest - but then I use Phosphate remover in my filter system as a routine (prevention rather than cure)

Ok, so it sounds like a good prevention measure... In comparision, they don't seem that expensive.

Are there any that are recommended? It will be going on a 150 gallon.

Phosban has a good reputation and I know the Aquamedic Phosphate reactor is also one that has had some good reviews

Ditto with what Steve said. I have the Two Little Fishes Phosban reactor (Marine Depot has it on sale now for $33.59). I use a Maxijet 600 pump. Not expensive at all!

My only comment is that for a 150 gallon tank, you will need at least 2 phosban reactors. A single one is not quite sufficient for my 90g. But you can use a single maxijet 400 pump for both reactors.

Also the viaqua brand reactor is tiny. I would get a big one.
Flake food is full of phosphates and especially frozen foods. As your filters age they will let some silicates and phosphates though. airwaterice.com recommeneds changing filters when the TDS is 10% of the tap TDS. :)
